Do I have to know the people I recommend?

Yes, ideally you've even worked directly with them in the past.

Will the people I recommend see my recommendations?

No. Our platform is completely anonymous up until the point where talent are introduced to employers, so your identity will never be revelaed.

How many recommendations can I make?

Currently there is a 10 recommendation limit to ensure quality over quantity. We may increase this in the future.

Will Xpo spam me and my friends?

Absolutely not! Talent on the platform can see a list of every company that is interested in potentially hiring based on connections (which are hidden).

Can I get paid for making referrals?

If you are involved in a hire that happens because your recommendations are part of the chain(s) leading to the hire, you will get paid a part of the recruiter fee. See here for more details.

When do I receive payments?

You will start receiving referral payments after your recommendees have been placed in a role at an Xpo hiring partner and have stayed over 90 days. The longer they stay, the higher your payment.

Is there any limit to the amount of talent registries I can join?

Currently, there is no limit to the number of registries you can join, however you should only apply to registries where you are a match.

How does Xpo compare to other job sites?

Xpo is different in that we work through trusted referrals

How can I apply to join a registry?

In order to apply you first need an Xpo.network account. Then you can apply to join any of the registries.

What's the difference between closed and open registries

Most registries are closed by default to new applicants. All memberships within registries are strictly private so you can't see who else is a member.

How does Xpo compare to other job sites?

Most job sites & professional networks are data repositories with information about engineers skills, work experience, and coding test results.

Are there any fees involved to apply?

Currently there are no fees to apply to join any of the talent registries, although there may be some small fees added in the future to ensure that only serious applicants apply to join the registry and discourage spam.

Will Xpo spam me and my friends?

Absolutely not! You will see a list of every company that is interested in potentially hiring you based on your network connections. However, the companies do not see anyone until you have indicated interest in the company.

Can I get paid for making referrals?

If you are involved in a hire that happens because your recommendations are part of the chain(s) leading to the hire, you will get paid a part of the recruiter fee. The exact calculation is defined here.

I've applied to join a registry but haven't heard back

The intial round of the application processes takes up to 2 days, sometimes it can take longer depending on applicant volume.

Is there any limit to the amount of registries I can join?

Currently, there is no limit to the number of registries you can join, however you should only apply to registries where you are a match.

Is there a required coding test to join?

No! We don’t think coding tests provide great information about candidates. The information Xpo provides is endorsements between users. These act as recommendations, which most recruiters prefer over coding test results.

Why should I use Xpo to hire?

Hiring top talent is hard. Xpo is an distributed system for scaling up the ability of your team to find personal referrals by automatically finding recommended employees through multiple levels of connection.

Is there a poaching risk from inviting my team-members?

To protect against poaching, when you invite colleagues from your company, make sure to switch off "Forward job opportunities" in each invitation. This prevents job opportunities from flowing through your account to your employees as a pre-caution.

How many degrees of seperation do typical hires come from?

In our experience the average number of degress of seperation is 3. This means you can expect to split the referal fee 3 ways. See more here.

How can we hire without seeing skills, resumes, or work experience?

We expect you to want to see that information. You can ask for it once you have the connection to the prospective employee. Think about Xpo as a simple high level sourcing tool. It will likely produce a funnel with lower quantity but far higher quality of candidates.

Can I advertise things that aren't job postings inside of a registry?

Yes. However, there are strict limitations in terms of what kinds of opportunities you may advertise. Please contact us for details.

Can I reach out to people individually on the registry?

No. Because we take a privacy-first approach, you won't be able to see who belongs to which registry.
